Moon Photography 2026 – Detailed Close-Ups, Craters and Unique Moon Views
Moon photography from 2026: Detailed images of the lunar surface, revealing craters, textures and different lighting conditions. The collection captures the Moon from various perspectives, from close-ups to scenes featuring pine trees, birds flying across the Moon and landscapes in Baden-Württemberg and Antalya, Turkey.
About this project
The Moon is one of the most fascinating subjects in astrophotography. Throughout 2026, a variety of lunar photographs were taken at different locations. A particular focus is on detailed close-ups showing the lunar surface, including its craters, ridges and textures.
Alongside traditional telephoto shots, the collection also features different perspectives and unique moments: the Moon framed by a pine tree, birds flying across its face, or the Moon in the early morning against a light blue sky. These images capture the Moon in different settings, showing not only its astronomical features but also its relationship with the surrounding landscape.
The photographs were taken in Baden-Württemberg, particularly in the Ortenau district of Germany, as well as in Antalya on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. Different locations, lunar phases, times of day and lighting conditions make this collection a diverse look at moon photography in 2026.
